The Amazon Basics Cooling Elevated Bed is one of my go-to recommendations for clients looking for a quality inexpensive bed. This might not be the fanciest bed in the world but it certainly does the trick. Considering how inexpensive it is, this bed really provides a lot of value.
Let's go over some of the key features that make this such an appealing option:
1.) This particular model is great for indoor or outdoor use. I personally use these beds outside when I want my dogs to dry off before coming back into the house.
2.) This bed is super easy to clean and maintain. Dog beds tend to get dirty pretty quickly. Maybe the dogs are a little muddy from playing outside or we have a puppy working through some potty training difficulties. Not to worry! I have used a broom, vacuum, hose, and/or damp cloth to clean the fabric on this bed. The elevated canopy and the light weight frame also make it easy to clean under and around. Most vacuum attachments can easily fit under the bed and there is plenty of space for a rumba to get around.
3.) The fabric used for the canopy is very breathable and allows for airflow under our dogs. This is specifically convenient for dogs with long or thick fur. A lot of the time, I will keep a blanket on top of this bed so my dog has the option for a little more cushion or warmth if they choose.
4.) This type of bed is a lot more durable than a typical fabric bed. I am not saying that this model is entirely chew proof but there are way less sensitive/chewable spots for a dog to start messing with.
5.) An elevated bed can also be helpful for boundary training. Some dogs have an easier time learning how to stay on a bed when there is a slight elevation above the ground.
6.) There are multiple sizes available. I use the smaller sizes for individual dogs and I use the bigger sized beds anytime I am going to have a few of my dogs laying down together.
